Red Blend 2016 – Sangiovese, Mourvedre, Syrah – Santa Barbara County
This rosy-red colored blend is loaded with ripe fruit and warm vanilla on the nose, however, the fruit is brighter on the palate: red cherries, cranberries, and pomegranate with hints of dried violets, tarragon, graphite, and garrigue.
Food/flavor pairings: The red wine blend brings great acid from the Sangiovese and big fruit and savory flavors from the Syrah and Mourvedre. This combo pairs perfectly with its local cuisine, Santa Maria Barbecue. Slow, red oak grilled tri-tip with salad and piquena beans.
